Environment & Sustainability

Duo Group believes that we have a responsibility to care for and protect the environment in which we operate.

We are fully committed to improving environmental performance across all of our business activities and will encourage our business partners and members of the wider community to join us in this effort.

In order to achieve this, the Group has developed an Environmental Management System which satisfies the requirements of BS EN ISO14001:2015 as well as all applicable statutory & regulatory requirements.

Key Impacts

We recognise our key impacts to be in the areas of:

  • energy use.
  • raw material use.

    procurement.

We will strive to:

Adopt the highest environmental standards in all areas of operation, meeting and exceeding all relevant legislative requirements.
Assess our organisational activities and identify areas where we can minimise impacts.

Continual Improvement

At Duo Group we are committed to minimising the impact of our operations on the environment by means of a programme of continual improvement. In particular we will:

  • Meet and, where reasonably practicable, exceed, the requirements of all relevant legislation.
  • Integrate environmental factors into business decisions.
  • Seek to reduce consumption of materials in all operations. Re-use rather than dispose of whenever possible and promote recycling and the use of recycled materials.
  • Implement energy and water conservation schemes.
  • Promote energy efficiency in new services, buildings and products and manage energy wisely in all operations.
  • Reduce, wherever reasonably practicable, the level of harmful emissions.
  • Ensure that our products make efficient use of resources and can be reused or recycled at the end of their working life, as far as is reasonably practicable.
  • Work with our suppliers to minimise the impact of our operations on the environment.
  • Site our buildings, structures and operational plant so as to minimise the visual impression or noise and other such impacts on the local environment.
  • Include environmental issues in training programmes and encourage sound environmental practices by all staff.
  • Respond to the concerns of the local community and other interested parties.
Prevent pollution by ensuring that appropriate spillage containment measures are in place, and that exhausts and noise control provisions are properly maintained.
  • Set environmental management objectives based on the significant environmental aspects that we have identified.

We monitor our environmental objectives to ensure that they are achieved and seek to continually improve our environmental performance.
